This page was created on behalf of my dear friend and member of our church Sophia Chhay to raise money to reunite Sophia with her 6-year-old daughter.

Sophia, a young Cambodian woman who lives in Kampot, Cambodia, is a devoted mother.
In early December, her daughter was flown out of Cambodia to a foreign country.  Sophia was not able to say goodbye to her and has spent the last 6 months without her daughter. This has been such a devastating event.

With some financial help from a friend and her savings, Sophia has only begun to pay the costs associated  with her daughter’s returned to her home in Cambodia. Overall, she will need to raise $70,000 to help her pay for the process and the petition to get her daughter back to Cambodia. 

How did this happen? As a friend of Sophia's, it is incredibly hard for me to imagine how something like this could have happened, and why nothing was done. 

 Her daughter is so sweet, and they have such a special relationship, which I was able to see when we lived in Kampot last year. 
Sophia does not have the financial means to fight for her daughter in the judicial system where her daughter now resides, and she will need our help if she ever hopes to see her daughter again.
