Reunite Mona and Andrew

My name is Andrew, and this holiday season, I'm reaching out with a desperate plea for help to end nine months of heartbreaking separation from my wife, Mona, and finally reunite our family—first in Indonesia, then permanently in the United States.

Earlier this year, Mona and I were happily building our life together in Orlando, Florida. Tragedy struck when her father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, prompting us to drop everything and relocate to Indonesia to be by his side. We cared for him until he sadly passed away, and then I stayed on to help Mona support her grieving elderly mother through daily needs and emotional recovery. The costs of medical bills, funeral expenses, and extended living abroad quickly drained our entire savings.

In March 2025, unexpected immigration complications forced me—a U.S. citizen—to return to the United States alone, while Mona remained in Indonesia to continue caring for her mother. We've been apart ever since: endless video calls that can't replace holding each other, sleepless nights filled with worry, and the constant pain of a marriage torn apart by distance and bureaucracy.

I'm now humbly asking for your support to raise $60,000 to cover the full journey ahead. This includes securing my legal status to return and stay in Indonesia initially, covering all associated costs there, and then navigating the complex process to bring Mona and her elderly mother to the U.S. permanently via visas and green cards. With U.S. immigration policies growing increasingly stringent, the need for experienced lawyers has made this process not only daunting but extraordinarily expensive to ensure everything is handled correctly without delays or denials.

Here's a breakdown of the estimated costs:

  • $5,000 for my round-trip flights and initial relocation back to Indonesia
  • $10,000 for legal services and fees to secure my extended legal status/residency in Indonesia (visas, permits, and attorney consultations for compliance)
  • $8,000 for living expenses and support in Indonesia during the transition (rent, utilities, and care for Mona's mother while preparing U.S. applications)
  • $15,000 for U.S. spousal visa (IR-1/CR-1) application for Mona, including filing fees, biometrics, medical exams, and supporting documents
  • $12,000 for family-based visa/green card application for Mona's mother (as a dependent parent), covering petition fees, affidavits of support, and additional processing
  • $10,000 for comprehensive immigration attorney fees in the U.S. (to handle petitions, appeals if needed, and ensure accuracy amid rising complexities and backlogs)

I promise to provide regular updates throughout the process, including an itemized list of specific costs and receipts (with sensitive information redacted for privacy) to maintain full transparency and show exactly how your generous donations are being used.

Every contribution brings us one step closer to reuniting in Indonesia first, then building a stable life together in Florida—where Mona and her mother can access better healthcare and opportunities, free from the shadow of separation. No donation is too small, and simply sharing this campaign with your network could make all the difference.

Thank you from the deepest part of my heart for taking the time to read our story and for any help you can offer. Your kindness could turn this painful chapter into a joyful new beginning for our family.
