Help us bring Lizandro home!
Lizandro López-García is a very hardworking and loving husband and father. Unfortunately, Lizandro has been separated from his family after being taken by ICE outside of Din Tai Fung Southcenter where he had just finished a shift.
Lizandro is a father to two little ones- a 4 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. He is the primary source of income for his family, while his wife dedicates her time to care for their autistic 4 year old and 1 year old baby who has also been diagnosed with an illness. He works very hard to assure his children receive the proper medical care they need. Lizandro is very worried for his family, as he brings the money home and understands the financial burden his separation will leave for his wife and kids.
On September 29th at around 4pm Lizandro made his way back to his car after finishing up a shift at Din Tai Fung Southcenter. He sat in his car for a few moments before ICE approached his window and told him he was being arrested. ICE didn’t name him, nor did they present any sort of warrant or reason for his arrest. Lizandro has no criminal background.
Lizandro’s health is also a big concern. He is a diabetic who needs his medication, but conditions in the facility aren’t great. The NWDC doesn’t even have clean fountain water, and safe drinking water is expensive. Considering these circumstances, it is not guaranteed that he will be receiving the proper medical attention he needs in order to be healthy.
Your help will support Lizandros family during this difficult time. Funds will go to legal expenses, and providing for his commissary and communication while in the detention center.
Lizandro is an amazing father, husband, friend and colleague. His absence does not go unnoticed. Your help is a step closer to reuniting Lizandro with his wife and kids, and it is truly appreciated. Thank you!
