In a few weeks, I will be returning to Haiti to serve with the incredible team at MamaBaby Haiti. I have traveled to Haiti three times before (twice in 2019 and once in 2020), and the people and the mission of MBH have my heart. The birth center is one of the most sacred places I have ever served. Currently, they are birthing 200 babies a month—and without our support, they are not able to continue to give this care completely free to the community. Women travel from surrounding villages for prenatal care, safe births, and postpartum support.
During this trip, I will be working primarily at the birth center—supporting the staff and faculty, assisting during prenatal clinic days, helping care for mothers and newborns during birth and postpartum, and teaching and encouraging the student midwives who are training to serve their own communities. These Haitian midwives and students are the heart of the mission, and it is an honor to support the work they are doing every day.
To make this trip possible, I need to raise funds to cover airfare, volunteer fees, baggage and customs costs for medical supplies, and supplies and gifts that directly support the staff and student midwives serving mothers and babies.
