I am asking for help for Alysia and Rob Kubert, my sister and brother-in-law, whose dream of building a safer, simpler life has turned into a heartbreaking three-year struggle.

After the loss of their son Tyler, Alysia and Rob decided it was time for a fresh start. They found a five-wooded-acre lot in East Tennessee and planned on building a home to begin the healing process.

Unfortunately, what began as a hopeful move to Tennessee after unimaginable loss has left them living in a camper while trying to finish the home they trusted someone else to build. The contractor they trusted never finished the job. After broken promises and constant delays, he ran away with six figures of their hard-earned money, leaving them with just a shell of a house and no funds left to finish it.

They could no longer afford rent, and in October 2023, they moved onto the property in a 28-foot camper with their beloved cats and dog. They had hoped this would be a temporary solution, but they are currently still in the deteriorating camper with little hope of completing their home on their own.

Alysia and Rob are two of the most giving and unconditional friends to everyone they know. It saddens their friends and family that we are unable to help them financially on our own. This is why I am asking for your help. Your donation will help them finish the electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, and sheetrock so that they can legally secure a Certificate of Occupancy and finally move into their home.

Our goal is $100,000, and anything you can donate is greatly appreciated.

This is the house as the contractor left it.

The interior was left exposed to the elements.

This is the camper they currently live in.
