On Friday 7/17/2026 at 3:04pm, my parents house was struck by lightning, causing a fire. My mom was able to quickly get my sister, Carly, who has special needs and requires assistance, our family dog Benny, and herself out of the house and safely away to the neighbors house. CCFES arrived on the scene quickly and stopped the fire from spreading any further. The home that my family has lived in for 26 years is destroyed. We have lost everything. Thank God no one is physically hurt. Please continue prayers for my family and the restoration of our home. All of Carly’s medical equipment is destroyed, including her feeding pump, eye gaze device, wheelchair, Safe Haven bed (enclosed safety bed), and medication aides including syringes. We have had many people ask how to help & although we aren’t totally sure what comes next, there are immediate needs that my family could use support with. These are items like clothes, shoes, wipes, cups for Carly, and other medical equipment for Carly. We are immensely grateful for any support, whether it is items, prayers, best wishes, and keeping us in your thoughts.
