Great Hill Cemetery in Seymour, Connecticut, is one of our community’s most historic and sacred places. It is the final resting place of many of the town’s earliest families, including members of the Chatfield, Botsford, and Holbrook families, as well as numerous veterans who bravely served our country in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I, and World War II.

As we approach the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America, there is no better time to honor those who built and defended our nation by preserving their memory. Unfortunately, many of the headstones at Great Hill Cemetery have become damaged or broken over time. While dedicated volunteers have already begun the important work of restoring these stones, there are still hundreds more in need of repair.

This fundraiser is to help provide the resources necessary to continue this effort—materials, restoration, and supplies that go beyond what volunteers can do alone. Every donation, large or small, will go directly toward preserving these historic monuments so future generations can learn about and honor the people who came before us.
