After 5 amazing years in scouts, I have reached my Eagle project. This is my ultimate opportunity to give back to a community who gave so much to me. I am working with the Arroyos and Foothills Conservancy in order to restore one of many trails burnt in the Eaton Fires. These trails were traveled on by people I know and people I don't, by my teachers and peers and by complete strangers. The land destroyed was not only a place to connect with the land below us but also the people around us. My project dedicates itself to restoring the face of that connection, more specifically, the head of one of those trails. I am rebuilding a trail kiosk that was partially burnt in the fires and graffitied on not long after. The collaboration between BSA and the Arroyos and Foothills Conservancy allows for the conservancy to get the resources they need to continue restoring the Eaton Fire's wreckage. In order for the Arroyos and Foothills Conservancy to get $40,000 in funding from the city, they must create a plaque crediting the city and display it on the Kiosk. Now, there is a major issue here. The Arroyos and Foothills Conservancy is unable to build the Kiosk without funding, but they cant get funding without the Kiosk. My Eagle Project will open the gateway for more support going towards Altadena.
