Restore the Canaan NH Meetinghouse
Tax deductible
Canaan's Meetinghouse, built in 1793, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, needs your support. Several urgent building restorations are needed: replacing eight bell tower timbers, bell deck roofing, window restoration, clapboards, floor boards, roof leaks, sill work, and painting. Gatherings at the Meetinghouse include book author readings, weddings, memorials, religious services, concerts, art exhibits, quilt exhibits, school tours, government meetings, social organization meetings, and events of all kinds. Attendance at these events is drawn from the Mascoma Valley and the greater Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont.
Please consider making a donation to support the Meetinghouse, and help preserve this historic building, which is one of the oldest and finest in northern New England, and which still functions as a gathering or meeting place. The Canaan Historical Society will apply 100% of funds received to restoration of the meetinghouse.
