Urgent Help Needed for Home Repairs — No Insurance, No Title
Recently I had a very close friend of mine reached out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. Shea Dale and her family are in urgent need of help to raise $28,000 for critical repairs to the home they live in.
The house is not in her name, but it has been her family’s home for years. Unfortunately, the deed has never legally been transferred to her due to family circumstances beyond her control, and she have no homeowners insurance. Because of this, they don’t qualify for most government or insurance aid.
The home is in serious disrepair — the next door neighbor's tree fell on the roof, causing the entire corner of the home to be smashed. There is a giant hole in the roof and the backside of the property.
In addition to this crisis, they have spent the last year and a half working a plan with the State of Georgia for her son, to get custody of his three daughters after their mother took her own life. This hasn't been an easy time for them, to say the very least. Just as they completed the program and were scheduling home visits, the tree fell on the house. As this is his home as well, the damage to the home has become a major setback.
They have explored every option: legal means with the neighbor's, grants, loans, community help, and local agencies. With no ownership and no insurance, they've hit a wall. That is why we are turning to the kindness of others.
If you can help in any way — by donating or sharing — it would mean the world to them. Every dollar goes directly to materials, labor, making their home whole again, and bringing the girls home.
Thank you so much for your support.
