Restore Safety and Comfort for a Caring Family

Hello, thanks for being here! I have created this page in hopes of raising some money to help my parents and youngest brother.

A little background: my parents (in their 60s) and my 21-year-old brother live in the same house they’ve lived in since my mom was pregnant with him. Due to my brother’s slew of conditions (non-verbal autism, OCD, epilepsy, etc), my mom has to stay at home and be his caregiver full time. My dad works as a kindergarten teacher and mows lawns on the weekends to make ends meet, and they still live paycheck to paycheck. This means that they do not have the funds to do any repairs when things inevitably stop working around the house. This is where you come in.

Whatever is collected on here will go toward:

* new carpet upstairs (same carpet they had for over 20 years—it’s gross even after scrubbing it, and I think it might be contributing to everyone’s respiratory illnesses).

* gutting one of the bathrooms that seems to have black mold (this will be the priority and biggest expense, I believe).

* fixing a termite/rotten wood hole by the chimney (on the outside of the house) that makes it easy for pests to get inside the walls.

* fixing holes in the walls around the house (unfortunately caused autism meltdowns)

* getting a dishwasher (theirs doesn’t work because little bro hit his head against it a while back as he was falling down from a seizure)

* if possible, fixing the car parked in the driveway for the last two years

* if possible, changing the downstairs floor as it is pretty damaged in some areas (water damage on low quality wood floors)
