So, this neighborhood monument on the corner of our home on Overton Park Avenue and Garland St. was destroyed on election day by some kids in a stolen car. Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt, but they got away. Unfortunately, our home insurance won't cover its repair. The quote I received from a local stone mason company came back as $2,500 - $3,500 to rebuild it, depending upon what stones can be salvaged.
My wife and I are committed to rebuilding it, but that's a lot. We are hoping to get support from the community to help us with the costs of rebuilding it. If you live in the Evergreen Historic District and can comfortably help with the cost, we would be ever grateful.
