Restore our Blackwell Youth Center

Many current and former Blackwellites have great memories of this Blackwell institution, the Youth Center! Unfortunately over the years funding has not been available for necessary upkeep and updates.  Now the facility was recently vandalised extensively.  Again funding is a problem, but the city and some generous businesses are helping some.  Still it's not enough.
So what can we do?  Donate!
What I have in mind is a completion among former and current classes.  I am a proud "card carrying" member of the Class of 71!  I would first like to challenge my classmates to be the class that creates the most donations, both in number and in dollars.
Second challenge goes out to all the other class years to try to out-donate us!
Let's think back about what the Youth Center has meant to Blackwell and to each of us.  From Saturday classes that taught us skills to the amazing Friday nights spent nervously trying to look calm and cool on the dance floor!
I don't often get back to Blackwell these days, reunions mostly.   But the Youth Center is one place I always drive by, and smile.
Let's all join in and keep that place smile-happy for us and all the classes to come.
That's the challenge.  Step up to it!
