In 2024, we started an initiative, "Island Goals", to help provide soccer gear to at-risk youth in Salt Spring, Jamaica, with the idea that we would continue this annually throughout the St. James Parrish. We were able to provide 85 pairs of cleats and 100 soccer balls to the children of all ages. As we started to plan for next year, the devastating hurricane Melissa hit our beloved country and Jamaica needs our help now, more than ever.
Spring Mount and Johns Hall is where we are from, a small community in the hills of St. James, Jamaica. We have family who have lost their homes and all of their belongings. High winds blew out windows, doors, and blew off roofs. Due to destroyed roads, there is limited access to the city, Montego Bay, to get essential necessities, including food. We are planning to do what we can, but we can't do it alone. We are requesting monetary support to be able to help not only our family but our community long-term with food, hygiene products, clothing, blankets, towels, etc. In addition to providing necessary essentials, we will use your donations to help with repairing homes so our community can get back to some sense of normalcy.
We appreciate your help and thank you so very much!
