This relief drive is organized by Brenique Whyte, a pre-med student in Canada, and her mother, Yanique White, who currently resides in the United States, through The Brenique Whyte Foundation. Born and raised in the heart of Trelawny, we grew up surrounded by the lush hills and vibrant heritage of Cockpit Country—one of Jamaica’s most ecologically rich and culturally significant regions. It’s a land known for its natural beauty, its history of resistance and resilience, and its close-knit communities that have always looked out for one another.
In recent days, Hurricane Melissa has brought severe devastation to South Trelawny. Homes have been destroyed, roads are blocked, farms have been washed away, and many families have lost everything. Communities such as Albert Town, Lowe River, Wait-A-Bit, and Lorrimers have been especially hard hit, with flooding, infrastructure damage, and limited access to clean water and basic supplies.
While some areas were spared the worst, countless families are now struggling to recover and rebuild. We are determined to help provide immediate relief and long-term support to those affected.
While some areas were spared the worst of the storm, many families are struggling to recover. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and bring much-needed relief to those in need.
All donations will go directly toward purchasing essential supplies for affected families, including:
Canned food,Rice, flour, bottled water, baby formula, and utensils
Sanitary pads, toiletries, and diapers
Medication, flashlights, and portable chargers
Garbage bags, tarpaulins, Zinc, ply boards, and plastic drums
Every contribution, no matter how small, will help bring comfort and stability to families as they rebuild their lives. Your support will help provide immediate relief and long-term recovery for our brothers and sisters in South Trelawny.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign to help us reach more people who can join in this mission of hope. Let’s stand together and show that even from afar, we can uplift and empower our community.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.
