Restore Hope for Ms. Terry and Her Animals

Donation protected
As most know, Cave City was hit by a tornado on March 14th, 2025. As my family and I were safe and had no damage to our home, some were not so fortunate. The photos shown was a home to Ms. Terry Fengel. I made my connection to Ms. Terry a week after the disaster, March 21st, 2025. My husband and I are residents of Cave City and live blocks from where Ms.Terry’s home was destroyed. On Saturday, March 16th, this little dog was wondering in our front yard. He was clearly lost and needed help. My family and I took him in, bathed, fed, and cuddled him with hopes we would find his home. I made numerous posts, added him to Arkansas websites, had him scanned. Still nothing on day 6. It was the morning of March 21st when I finally got some hope. A Ms. Betty saw the Facebook post of the dog and explained to me that it might be her friends dog that had ran off after the storm. Ms. Betty immediately went to where Ms. Terry was, it was her “boo-boo”. I was so relieved that we found this sweet pups home! Unfortunately that happiness saddened when I got to Ms. Terrys residence in Cave City. What I found myself looking at was a frame with no house, a women rumbling though was used to be her home. Trying to pick up pieces of her life that was thrown around, but most of all I found a women who has God. When I talked to Ms. Terry I saw a women of faith. Ms. Terry worked at the Batesville Human Society for quite some time. She is an animal lover. I asked Ms. Terry where she was when the tornado hit. Her response left me with chills. Her and Boo-Boo, along with her other dogs and cats rode out the tornado in her home. She said “God covered us and protected us in a way I can never repay him. I owe it all to him”. Ms. Terry and her animals were not hurt but she did lose everything. Her house, phone, wallet, clothes. Everything she worked for is gone. With that being said, Ms. Terry didn’t dwell on what she has lost. She wore a smile on her face and was telling me of the great things the community has done for her. She has a temporary place to stay and Mr. Boo-Boo will still be staying with my family and I until Ms. Terry can make further arrangements. I feel it laid on my heart to share my story and take up donations for Ms. Terry and her large loving animal heart. I assure you that I will hand deliver the money to Ms. Terry. Thank you for reading her story. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
