Restore Hope for Elizabeth and Tommy
Donation protected
We are fundraising for a family that is near and dear to our hearts and community. Elizabeth Yates supports herself and her son Tommy. Tommy’s father passed in 2019 and they have no family that live close by. Elizabeth is one of the hardest working people we know and ALWAYS manages to show up to events at her son’s school and his baseball games. She is self-employed, using her car to Doordash. On July 15th, her car was stolen as she was making a delivery at a corporate building in Stamford, CT. She has been without a car for 2 weeks. Although her vehicle has been recovered, it has severe damage (both interior and exterior) and won’t be returned for quite some time. It needs significant repairs to be safe to drive again. Over $1000 of equipment, including Tommy’s safety seat were stolen and discarded. The thief also took Elizabeth’s keys, which included her house keys. Since then, her landlord has changed the locks, however, the thief is still out there. It has taken a major mental toll on Elizabeth and Tommy. She has always had an “I can handle everything” mentality and she is Tommy’s ultimate hero. Despite this, she is broken and disheartened. She is barely making ends meet and is struggling since using her car was her sole source of income. We are asking everyone to come together and help support a wonderful mother and a dear friend.
