In the early hours of 10/17/25, the Cavender family were victims of a house fire. Kenneth Cavender Jr. heard the fire alarm go off and immediately woke up his grandma, sister, and uncle. Thanks to the quick thinking of this little hero, he saved his family's life. Their duplex neighbor's house caught on fire. That home is destroyed by the fire while the Cavenders' home has smoke and water damage. Both homes are unlivable. Many of their belongings are destroyed. They are in need of a place to stay, food, and clothing. With the holiday season approaching, this is just a devastating blow to their family.
