My name is Dawnette Kerr, I am from the parish of Hanover, which was devasted by hurricane Mellissa. I am trying to raise some funds for my friends and coworkers living in the hilly countryside of Jamaica, whose houses are badly damage by the passage of Hurricane Melissa. Some of these individuals houses are totally destroyed while others lost their roofs .Your kind contribution will be greatly appreciated.

Many families are left without homes, food and access to water supply. Therefore, I am seeking assistance to provide hope and support to those in need. Every dollar counts as your contribution is needed to help rebuild homes so persons can look towards having their own privacy once more and finding comfort knowing they Will be able to have somewhere for themselves once more to rest their heads. Many have to be staying with friends and other relatives and some find this very uncomfortable, knowing that they no longer have their own space.

We need all the support and help we can get, as it seems that Hanover is forgotten as all the help and assistance is being deviated to other affected parishes. The people of Hanover are suffering too and it look as if there is no help coming anytime soon. Many communities are still without electricity and the supply wont be restored until late February but that is the least as our priority right now is getting funds to start rebuilding homes, providing water and food to the people of Hanover.

Many families are depending on me as their hope to get the necessary help they need on their path to recovery. The children in my community need the support, They too are affected and traumatize and need food, water and clothing as well to survive. Their livelihood have been affected as many parents who works in the tourism sector and other areas are out of jobs due to the damages caused by Melissa at their place of work. Some children in these area are unable to go to school because their schools are damage while there is also no water available to resume classes.

Currently in some parishes there is an outbreak of leptospirosis and so we need money to provide clean and safe water for our children.

The funds received will not only be spent in the community of Clifton but will also help my coworkers who are from different areas of Hanover.
