Restoration at the Yorktown VFW
Donation protected
My name is Maya Montalvo and I am currently a scout of Yorktown Troop 173g, working towards the rank of Eagle.
In choosing my Eagle Scout Project it was important for me that it would benefit our United States Military Veterans in some way.
I am excited to take on the task of enhancing the entrance to the Yorktown Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Building. I have been granted permission by the VFW organization and the American Legion to restore this pillar in our community. This includes the restoration of a preserved war ordnance along with a naval anchor.
I am seeking funds to gather the necessary equipment, supplies and materials for the project including a Sandblaster, sand/soda, pavement rocks, mulch, ground cover cloth, drop cloths, N95/safety materials, etc.
Over the past 55 years, my troop, Troop 173 has helped over 100 young men achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. I am proud to be among one of the first young ladies to reach this collaborative achievement.
Any surplus of funds raised will go directly to the VFW organization.
I will also provide an update with pictures upon completion.
Any support and donations you can provide are greatly appreciated.
