Help us give the Petersons a Garage Reset after a house fire!
Mikey and Karie Peterson and their family have persevered after their home caught fire last year and with ongoing health challenges. Reset Your Nest is raising money for the Peterson family to organize their garage and offer support to offset bills and family needs. Join Reset Your Nest as we rally financial and volunteer support for this Community event.
When Karie and Mikey Peterson’s home in Utah caught fire last year, they were lucky: they and their children, nine-year-old Stockton and three-year-old Meg, were safely out of the house at the time, and the fire didn’t spread too far—they didn’t lose their home. In the mayhem, their home was torn apart and the garage was the space where everything was stuffed until they had more time to get to it. We’ve all done this, and now the process of getting organized again on top of Mikey’s health issues is overwhelming.
If ever there was a project for Reset Your Nest, this is it! Now we have a chance to reset their garage, which has been a disorganized source of stress since it was repaired.
Karie and Mikey have already faced more than their fair share of hardships through Mikey’s ongoing medical issues. In addition to receiving a kidney autotransplant and managing ulcerative colitis, arthritis, and bulging discs, Mikey has had brain surgery to alleviate pain from a Chiari malformation, a condition where a person’s brain outgrows the space in the skull. Although surgery has helped, Mikey continues to face symptoms including nausea, balance issues, migraines, depression, anxiety, and nerve pain.
Mikey remains upbeat despite daily pain and never-ending medical appointments. Mikey is unable to work but never stops being a supportive husband to Karie, an elementary school teacher, and super-dad to Stockton and Meg is his top priority.
We’re taking the opportunity to take some of that pressure off: Through this campaign, Reset Your Nest plans to not only get the Petersons’ garage into an even more usable space than it was before the fire, but to raise additional funds in support of this terrific family.
