Hello dear ones,
Today I write to you with a heart heavy with pain over what is happening in Gaza, hoping that this message finds its way to your hearts.
I am Mahmoud Farajallah, 37 years old, a rap artist, a Palestinian refugee from Gaza, currently residing in Belgium for the past 5 years.
I left Gaza in 2018, leaving behind my family for the first time, in search of a better future for all of us. After being deprived of a decent life and a better future.
Hoping to change our miserable reality into a life that is merely normal, nothing more.
I graduated from Palestine Technical College in Deir al-Balah in 2015, with a major in Television Arts, with a GPA of 91%.
However, the general economic situation in Gaza did not allow me to find a job.
I live with my mother, sister, brother, his wife, and their five children in a house that can hardly be described as modest since 2006.
I contributed to rebuilding the house in 2022, but the work has not been completed yet.
As everyone knows, the war that broke out since October 7th last year spared no one, and we, the expatriates, live our worst days in front of TV screens and news channels, trying desperately to get news and check on our families and neighbors.
On the evening of February 20th, as usual, I was watching one of the satellite channels when I was shocked to see that our house had been completely demolished along with a large number of other houses in an air raid that targeted an entire residential area.
I tried desperately to contact my family to make sure no one was in the house at the time of the attack, but unfortunately, my brother was there. He suffered a severe head injury, was rushed to the operating room at Deir al-Balah Hospital, and then fell into a coma for over 72 hours.
He is still hospitalized due to this injury. Given the poor facilities in Gaza, hospitals are overcrowded, and medical services are not provided properly due to the high number of injuries from the attacks and continuous airstrikes and shelling.
Therefore, I kindly ask for your help to get my family of 9 out of Gaza, which has become a zone of open warfare, and to contribute to providing the necessary medical treatment for my brother in hospitals outside the Gaza Strip.
Thank you,
With all my love.
