I am Reem Al-Ashi, a Palestinian citizen from Gaza. I have my beautiful family, me, my husband, and my children; We lived a quiet and stable life in my house in the Tal al-Hawa area in Gaza City. We had a small car to take me to work and drop off my children to university and school until our lives changed completely after the 7th of October.

I left my home since the beginning of the war on Gaza, as the Tal al-Hawa area was one of the first areas to be bombed. We were displaced to several areas in Gaza until we decided to move to the south, so we went to Nuseirat, then the city of Khan Yunis, then the Al-Mawasi area in western Khan Yunis, until the Turkish authorities evacuated us because we are Turkish citizens and hold Turkish citizenship. So my children and I left for Turkey, but they refused to help my husband leave with us because he holds a Palestinian passport. I tried in every way to help him come to us, but to no avail.

I left him alone in Rafah, as his family had not left Gaza City, and they were stuck in the northern Gaza Strip. He could not go to them, so he remained alone in a tent in Rafah City. I feel a great pain in my heart for what is happening to him. I am very worried about him, and my children are constantly crying. Every day we wake up, we call him to make sure that he is still alive. I fear for him very much, especially with the constant threats to invade Rafah.

I have no choice but to coordinate an exit from the Rafah crossing through Ya Hala Company, but the amounts required are massive.

Exiting Gaza across the Egyptian border through coordination costs 6750.6 $CAD (5,000 $ USA) per person. He also needs a residence permit in Egypt, about 1350 $CAD (1,000 $USA) per month. To obtain a visa and a plane ticket to Turkey costs 1350 $CAD (1,000 $USA), and GOFundMe transaction fees (2.9% plus 0.30$ per donation) costs about 300 $CAD (222 $USA), meaning a total of about 9800 $CAD (7258.6 $USA).

I have lost everything in this war, my home and my work, and I have no source of income. And I don't want to lose my husband. I would ask you to help me save my husband and reunite my family.
