“Rescue and Rebuild: Help Us Heal What Should’ve Never Been Broken”
Help Us Give Our Grandchildren the Future They Deserve
We are reaching out with heavy hearts but hopeful spirits. We are the proud and determined grandparents of four beautiful, resilient children who were placed into our care through Kinship Placement after suffering unimaginable trauma, neglect, and abuse. They came to us broken but not beyond repair.
A Crisis No Child Should Ever Face
These children, all under the age of five, came to us from a life no child should ever endure:
• A newborn, born at only 3 pounds, exposed to drugs in the womb and fighting for her life from day one.
• A 10-month-old baby, emotionally shaken, underdeveloped, and confused.
• A 3-year-old with cerebral palsy, significant hearing loss, and poor vision who had no access to therapy or consistent care.
• A 4-year-old little boy, who had suffered from years of extreme malnutrition, had rickets, and trauma beyond belief. At 4 years old, he was no longer able to walk or talk. He had to be hospitalized and fed through a feeding tube. His stomach had shrunk so small he could not tolerate any food by mouth, all due to long-term neglect by adults who should have been protecting him: his mother, father, and paternal grandmother, a licensed therapist of children and adults.
All four children were severely traumatized. Their doctor, the true hero, recognized the signs and acted quickly to save their lives. She would not stop; she could not sleep just thinking of the fate of the children, which in her eyes was grave if she had not acted. She would not give up; she followed their care and ensured she was the voice they did not have. We are forever grateful. But saving their lives was only the beginning. Healing will take years.
We Tried to Get Help — But No One Listened
For years, we saw warning signs. We begged and pleaded with authorities to check on the children's welfare, DSS, the sheriff's department, but no one would listen.
We were “just the grandparents,” people with no legal rights, no authority, and no power in a system that failed to act.
We watched helplessly, praying that someone would step in. By the time they did, the damage was deep, and the children were in crisis.

Our Only Answer Was YES
We were not prepared. We didn’t have baby cribs, car seats, diapers, or medical equipment. But when DSS called, we knew there was only one answer: Yes. Yes, we’ll take them all. Yes, we’ll love them. Yes, we’ll do whatever it takes. We only knew about two of the children, so to hear that there were four children was quite a shock.
We received the 10-month-old and the 3-year-old first. A week later, we picked up the 4-year-old and the newborn straight from the hospital; they both were fighting to survive.
Our lives have changed emotionally, physically, and financially. But we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Why We Need Your Help
We are doing everything we can, but we cannot do it alone. These children need:
• Specialized medical care and therapies
• Adaptive equipment for disabilities
• Nutritional supplements
• Safe sleeping and mobility equipment
• Emotional support services
• Transportation to multiple specialists weekly
• Clothes, diapers, formula, and basic necessities
• They need a chance
We are asking you from the bottom of our hearts to help us rewrite their story. Your donation will help us create a safe, loving, and nurturing home where they can heal, grow, and have the bright future every child deserves.
You Can Be Part of Their Rescue Story
From one heart to another, thank you for believing in our family. Thank you for believing in second chances. And most of all, thank you for believing in our grandchildren.
We appreciate you taking the time to read our story. Help us give these babies the safe, healing home and future they deserve. If you’ve ever wanted to make a difference, this is your chance. These children survived because someone acted. Now we ask you to act. Share. Donate. Pray. Give what you can. No amount is too small.
