Replant Trees on Field Across from Wellington Sch.

• Please donate to help restore the beauty of this field, which is used by children at the Wellington and the neighborhood – any amount helps! If we don’t reach our goal, we will just plant fewer trees…if we out-raise our budget, we will use the extra money to donate MORE TREES to the town! (maybe for Underwood park?)
• Trees play an important role in regulating climate change and mitigating the “heat island effect” in cities as well as reducing urban pollution and increasing biodiversity. We need to actively replace our aging tree canopy
• I have partnered with the Shade Tree Committee, and the Belmont Tree Warden to make a plan for new trees that will be appropriate to the space
• Local arborist (Marc Hansen from Barrett Tree East) has volunteered his time and help to source the trees and arrange for delivery so we know that we will be getting top quality trees from a local nursery
• DPW has provided a letter of support to plant the trees to reduce the overall cost of the project
