Replacing Cam's Stollen Tools Fund

Donation protected
Our beloved Cameron Brennan has had the misfortune of having professional thieves break into his new work van while it was parked out front of his house and steal all of his work tools from it.

Cameron is a licensed general contractor. He has a growing business working for himself in the greater Portland, OR area and relies on his tools daily to get his job done. Steal all of someones work tools; steal their livelihood.

Because the items stollen are for his profession, neither Cameron's auto insurance or renters insurance will cover their loss. And his contractors insurance will not cover them either because he would have had to have a special "tool insurance" that most contractors (including Cameron) opt out of having due to incredibly high deductibles and premiums. All of the money he forks out every month to protect his belongings is totally unhelpful in this situation.

Cameron has been accumulating his tools for the last 20 years. Everything from his unique hand chisels to his table saw to his sanders and even to the ear protectors you see him wearing in this photo are gone. The thieves did leave his shop vacuum and his ladder. Thanks guys!

The thieves drilled a hole next to the lock on the back door and were able to stick a finger through and pop up the lock. They disconnected the wires so the dome light went out while they did their dirty work. They didn't cut or rip the wires, they disconnected them. These guys are pros. They absolutely knew what model van to look for and how to execute their mission. Cam knows now that the van he bought this Summer to replace his broken truck is a common target for thieves due to this glitch in the lock manufacturing. Cameron was having a sleepless night on the couch in the living room when it happened, in full view of his van. He didn't hear a sound and there was not even a bark from the dog.

Cameron has made a list of what was stollen from his van and has estimated the replacement value as somewhere around $4000. Before he can replace his tools (or at least haul them around with him) he has to make some improvements to his van to ensure this does not happen again (totaling around $800). He is installing new super duper locks on the van, grates on the back windows, and an alarm system. And he will be using "the club" from now on since the word on the street has it that they'll just steal the van if they can't get into it.

A few of Cameron's friends have put this campaign together as a way of helping him get back on his feet. He doesn't know about it. It's a surprise.

So here comes the request. If you have a few spare dollars and if you feel moved to help this big hearted, gentle, honest, GOOD person, please contribute to his Tool Replacement/Van Improvement Fund. Any amount will help. You can even call it an early Christmas present!

Cameron has to replace his tools and fix up his van this week. Your contribution will help Cameron buy the tools he needs to do his job on Monday, and Tuesday, and every day. Your donation will touch his heart and tell him that his community supports him and has his back. Your gift will show him that there is still love and light in the world, that not everyone is cruel and selfish.

Let love win!

Thank you for reading this and for any support you can send him, no matter what form it takes.
