Goal met!: Troop 252 funding after fire

I'm Rob Ketcherside, Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 252 in Seattle.

Recently Seattle Buddhist Church, where we meet, had a fire. The area hit hardest was the room with our camping and backpacking gear. It's all gone.

Troop 252 started in 1939, and is the last historically Japanese American Scout troop in Seattle. We camp and hike regularly out beyond North Bend where the Snoqualmie River's rapid waters flow, and up into the Cascades. Our last campout was at 28 degrees, followed by a climb of Little Si.

Your donation will go straight into the troop's bank account. It will fund the gear that our youth share on camping and backpacking trips, and starter gear for new Scouts. We have monthly outings, and need gear in place to welcome new Arrow of Light Cub Scouts crossing over from Pack 252 at the beginning of March. With the money we will buy stoves, kitchen kits, tents, tarps, lanterns, pioneering rope, staves, first aid kits, and other shared gear for that campout. We'll also wait for the May sales and purchase shared backpacking gear for each patrol for our first overnight hike of the season.

Our funding goal will be adjusted as we get a better idea of what it will cost to replace what we need.
