Replace the fence at Civic Cemetery on 2nd Ave

My name is Vicky Bourgeois and my 21 year old son Tyler Christine-Bourgeois passed away on March 7, 2020 in a snowmobile accident where my son was rendered unconscious at which point he went threw the ice and drowned. I buried my son at the civic cemetery on 2nd Avenue as it was so beautiful and what I believed to be safe and well maintained. In the last two years that he has been at Civic Cemetery there has been multiple gravesites vandalized, destroyed and multiple items stolen. The back fence has been cut and removed multiple times by people using the cemetery as a short cut from 2nd Avenue to behind Lowe’s. The city has put the same chain link fencing back up multiple times and they are being cut open again within a day of repair. I have contacted the City, police, Mayor Brian Bigger (who has not responded to my messages) City counsel for ward 8 Al Sizer, MCTV, and even Parliament. I would like to have the fence replaced with one that cannot be cut or removed to protect our loved ones who are buried at Civic Cemetery. I have been instructed that it is not in the budget and the Cemetery makes money off selling plots and donations and there is nothing they can do about it. I’m raising money to help the City absorb some of the cost to replace the fence. I have also emailed Parliament seeking funds at the federal level to also help with the cost of replacing the fence to avoid the continued vandalism to our loved ones final resting place and putting an end to this ongoing situation. We have started a petition to parliament to please ask for any financial help by providing funding at the federal level to help replace the fence at Civic Cemetery.
