My name is Mac Daniel, brother of the late Miss Ingrid Daniel.

In March 2023, we were on a 2 week holiday in Dominica, West Indies. We went there mainly to sort out our late Mum's affairs.

My sister Ingrid was the main sibling in charge of Mum's affairs, and we went to support her with all she had to do.

Tragically, 5 days into our trip, we were the victims of a house burglary, where a lot of money was stolen. Ingrid, raised the alarm at 4am, saying that bags and personal items had been moved. This scenario had happened to her a few years before, when she was in the house with our late mother.

However, this time it proved to be too much for her, recalling what had happened previously, the pressure from this burglary caused her to faint and knock her head. Sadly, she never recovered, and was pronounced dead a few hours later in hospital.

We've had to repatriate Ingrid's body to the UK as this is where most of the family live. This unexpected expense is very high.

As you can imagine, the family in Dominica and in the UK, are in a state of shock as to what has happened. We're trying to deal with this situation, as best as we can, it just seems so surreal. This year would've been our Ingrid's 60th birthday.
