Update: It's been amazing to see the response from everyone who's donated and shared words of support. Both through email and a phone number provided by the reporter, we've gotten in touch with Michael! Transfer of funds has been initiated, and below is a screenshot confirming all the money is directly going to him. We've also increased the goal to $10k to ensure we cover the extent of damages to his car, which is still inoperable.
