My name is Taela Williams. I was raised in St. Elizabeth for the greater part of my life.

My family house has been greatly affected by Hurricane Melissa. We lost almost everything. My family has no connection, no electricity, and has not been able to access a town. Black River is the closest town, and it is severely affected as well. Trees and light posts are blocking the roads.

All this money will go back to my family and my community. Since almost everybody in my community, including my family, has lost their roof (photo included), they lost their appliances and mattresses. Most clothes are ruined since they were used to absorb the water from the flooding (photos included). This is a devastating loss for my family and my community. I'm not asking you to completely fund the repairs of all damages, but a little help goes a long way, and I would greatly appreciate it.

This isn’t just for my family only but for many in my community that share a similar story.
