I'm raising this fundraiser for my disabled mother and my sister, who is a single mother of 6 children. Today they received a 3-day notice for rent, and without help they could lose their housing. My mother uses a wheelchair, has chronic kidney failure, and is on dialysis. She has moved in with my sister, and right now they are both depending on this rent being paid so they can remain in their home.

So much has happened in a short time. In late July, my sister lost her job after reporting sexual harassment by her boss. Around the same time, our father became critically ill with a heart condition, went into cardiac arrest, was placed on life support, then hospice, and has now passed away. We spent about a month in Pensacola, Florida, by our father's side during his final days, and in the middle of all of this my sister has not yet had the chance to get back on her feet with work.

She has applied for unemployment, but no payments have come through yet. With 6 children in school and my mother's dialysis needs, this family is carrying more than anyone should have to carry at one time. The need right now is urgent, because the notice has already been given and the rent was due on the 5th.

How donations will help: Every dollar raised will go only toward rent so my mother, my sister, and the children can stay housed during this crisis.
