Hello,  Thank you for visiting my GoFundMe site.  My senior service leadership project centers around the needs of those who have served our country, our vets.  I am partnering with the Salvation Army Veterans and Family Center as well as an experienced contractor to meet two of the needs of the Center.  The Salvation Army Veterans and Family Center in Beaverton, Oregon  is a transitional housing facility for veterans who have families.  The veterans at this site receive the tools necessary to become self sufficient. 

My project will be to enhance safety for visiting children by implementing a gate to a narrow stairwell that leads to the basement of the building. (Picture 2) The vets  are also in need of a new BBQ pit with a concrete foundation and better fencing around it to protect young children (Picture 1).  This backyard space at the center provides positive social connections with vets and their families.  It is reported that the BBQs are utilized almost every night in the spring, summer, and fall.

The Salvation Army's work is very important and I believe that through this fundraiser we can make a difference for many at the Veterans and Family Center.

Extra funds will be used to buy a new grill and a possible awning for the backyard. Thank you for your contribution.
