RENOVATION OF ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH CASHEL CO TIPPERARY
Donation protected
The first phase will take place on the second week of February when the heating will be switched from oil to gas. The second phase will start around the end of April/ early May when the renovation of the clock tower and clock, re-pointing of stone work, some repairs to the church roof and the conservation and restoration of eight stained glass windows takes place. The overall cost will be in the region of €600,000 plus necessitating the borrowing of €200,000 plus. In order to repay the loan and continue with the day to day running of the parish we are asking you to increase your weekly envelope by 50 percent if at all possible. This will be the mainstay in our efforts to repay the loan as quickly as possible. It is the first time that an increase has been sought since the envelopes were introduced over 20 years ago. We will be writing to all businesses in the parish in the coming weeks seeking a once off donation from them. Personal donations will also be very welcome. You can also support our fundraising by joining the weekly lotto if you haven’t already done so. We are blessed to have a beautiful church and please God with your support it will continue to be so for many years to come.
Change to Gas Heating takes place on the week of Monday, 10 February. Renovation of the clock tower and clock, some repairs to the church roof and the conservation and restoration of eight stained glass windows to start in May.
