Take action, clean water to create a better life.

Our goal is to provide communities in need around the globe access to clean water and water conservation strategies. We started our project in Puerto Rico; an island suffering with water sanitation problems with 70% of citizens being served by water that violates health standards representing a sanitation challenge for communities around the Island. Communities located in the southeast depend entirely on water related economic activities that have been suffering a decline in sales and quality. Remora aims to help these communities with the integration of water filtering, water quality monitoring and bacterial management into one system alongside an educational program to provide communities access to clean water while we prepare them to live a sustainable life. Through this project, we are creating awareness on the issues brought by the constant pollution of the water ecosystems that surround us.

Puerto Rico is challenged to maintain its water quality standards after being struck by a category 5 hurricane in 2017. Even to this day, the hurricane left people without access to clean water, individuals are forced to use water from unsanitary sources to bathe, clean and drink, contributing to health issues and even death. Globally, around two billion people lack access to safely managed water and ninety percent of natural disasters are water related. Remora is already tackling this issues in communities in Puerto Rico following a step plan. This plan involves an educational program with workshops that raise awareness about the water sources that surrounds them focused on water sustainable management, filtering systems, quality standards and income opportunities. Our second step is the creation of handmade portable water filters by the communities. This filters are to purify water to drink and are made by materials recycled from their own sanitation and recycling activities in the community. Finally, the Remora machine is implemented giving access to clean water to the community, increasing water quality and eliminating water pollutants.

With our model, the communities and government will receive access to important data related to water for policy creation, water related business activities and community based activities. Support us and your contribution will change the reality of thousands of individuals.
