Merci M.Singh et Mme Kour
Le jeudi 28 janvier 2021, l’agent Sanjay Vig du Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal était agressé et désarmé dans le quartier Parc-Extension de Montréal.
Après que le suspect ait fait feu sur le policier avec l’arme de service de celui-ci, l’agent Sanjay Vig a réussi à trouver refuge chez Mme Santokh Kour et M. Gurmit Singh.
Devant l’horrible scène, ne parlant ni français ni anglais, Mme Santokh Kour a accueilli chez elle l’agent de la paix blessé.
Le couple a reçu et soigné le policier jusqu’à l’arrivée des renforts et des ambulanciers.

Fuyant l'instabilité politique de l'Inde, le couple s'est installé à Montréal souhaitant y vivre une vie plus paisible.
Dans un article de LaPresse (Lien en fin de page), on apprenait que Mme Santokh Kour et M. Gurmit Singh ont une fille qui se trouve toujours dans leur pays natal.
Dans le même papier, on apprenait que M. Gurmit Singh a perdu son emploi au début de la pandémie.
N'écoutant que leur coeur, le couple a porté secours à un agent de la paix qui craignait pour sa vie. C'est à notre tour d'aider Mme Santokh Kour et M. Gurmit Singh.

Les fonds serviront à faciliter le rapatriement de la fille de Mme Kour et M. Singh.
La somme obtenue aidera aussi la famille à subvenir à leurs besoins pendant la période de chômage de M. Singh.

Thursday January 28th, 2021, officer Sanjay Vig from the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (The Montreal Police), was assaulted and disarmed in the sector of Parc-Extension in Montreal.
Once the suspect had possession of officer Vig’s firearm, he fired several shots at the officer’s direction. Officer Vig was able to find refuge at the home of Santokh Kour and Gurmit Singh.
Being witness of this horrible scene, barely able to speak English or French, Ms. Kour took in the injured officer.
Not only did the couple open their home to the injured officer but they also rendered him aide until the arrival of his colleagues and paramedics.

With the political instability in India the couple decided to install themselves in Montreal where they felt they could live a more stable and peaceful life.
In an article mentioned from LaPresse (the link will be at the bottom of the page), we have learned that the daughter of Ms. Kour and Mr. Singh is still living in India. In the same article we also learned that Mr. Singh has lost his job in the beginning of the pandemic.
Listening to their hearts, the couple rendered aide to the injured officer who feared for his life. It is now our turn to help Ms. Kour and Mr. Singh.

The funds that we will collect will be used to facilitate the reunion with their daughter.
These funds will also support the family financially in this difficult time where Mr. Singh is currently unemployed.
