Our dear friend, and fellow educator Steve Kanode has been battling cancer since February 2013.  Now, almost three years later Steve has entered a new phase of the fight.  Amanda has taken a leave of absence from work to be with him at this point.

Steve and Amanda have touched so many peoples' lives as teachers in the Newton Public Schools.  Steve also became an Assistant Principal in Waltham at the Stanley and had an impact on teachers and learners there as well. 

Now that he is entering this stage, let's rally around them as a community and provide support to  Amanda, Aiden,  Evan and Steve.
