Remembering Theresa Bennis

We come together with heavy hearts to remember our dear friend Theresa Rocco-Bennis.

Theresa (aka Ms Bennis) was an selfless and extremely dedicated mom and an incredible special needs teacher at Everglades Elementary in Weston, FL. Her love and devotion for special education changed the life of several children and their family (inclusive mine) in the past 10 years. She was a true friend to all who knew her.

Just a few days ago, Mrs Bennis (58) had complications after a cardiac surgery and tragically passed away leaving her two children Lauren Ashley Bennis (24) and Anthony Bennis (22). Her son is on the Autism Spectrum and in a beautiful path attending college and working at one of our local Publix and her daughter is attending nursing school with the main goal to help with love and knowledge as much people as she can in the future.

They were a loving and caring family together… she will be eternally missed by her students, coworkers, friends, brother, father but by the most of all… her children.

These kids are facing the unimaginable and it has been the most difficult time of their lives and I feel that its time to come together as a big family and give back to her children all the love and support Ms Bennis dedicate to our community.
