The Spanish cargo ship the Cirilo Amorós was wrecked at Ballyvooney in a bad storm on 15 February 1926. The captain and crew were rescued in dramatic fashion by a team of locals and gardaí, using a cable tied between the ship and the clifftop. To mark this important part of Stradbally's history, an information sign is to be unveiled at Ballyvooney on 15 February next. Several people have volunteered their services and expertise free of charge so we (Christine King, Garvan Cummins and Cian Flaherty)
just need to cover the cost of the sign. Can you help?
