Remembering our Heroes: Fort Mill 10-13 Club 5K Fun Run

“10-13” is the radio call sign for “officer needs assistance”. Each year the Fort Mill 10-13 Club chooses an organization(s) specifically helping those in focus for that year’s event. A portion will always go to 911 support charities. For our first run we also supported the “Warrior Initiative” (service dogs for veterans), a Widows and Children Fund, and the Ronald McDonald House. Last year, after the tragic shootout in Charlotte, the focus was on supporting the families of the four slain officers. Each year we also designate $500 of the funds raised for a scholarship for a deserving local student. The event includes display tables/tents, participation from local law enforcement, fire, and EMS units, the signing of the National Anthem and blessing, and the run/walk/ruck race itself.
