Remembering Our Angel Lola

"She was a pure soul," I heard the priest say at the funeral. I contemplated those words. Immediately I thought of what Jesus said, "Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God." Therefore, my granddaughter, Lola, sees God.
My daughter, Kristin Gabrielle, went through a stillbirth and lost her beloved baby girl sometime during her sleep. Little Lola's heart stopped beating in the womb for unknown reasons. After loving and nurturing Lola for 38 weeks and five days, the unforeseen and overwhelming pain of losing her so close to birth has brought her to her knees. This piercing suffering is what no woman should ever have to experience. We must accept it as God's will because we are a people of faith. But it hurts, it really hurts.
The unexpectedness of this event has caused a financial burden for my daughter and her husband, Rene. Kristin cannot return to work at this moment. Due to her emotional and physical state of mind, she is in no condition. She is a wonderful, dedicated teacher but to return to work too soon would be overwhelming. We are doing everything we can to support and be there for her during this difficult and heartbreaking time. Your prayers are greatly appreciated and we thank you for any support to help my daughter through this time.
A message my daughter wrote for Lola:
"I keep thinking that God waited until the very end so we could see how precious Lola was. God knew the best place for her was with him in his arms. He is love and I trust in him. I once read, 'An angel wrote in the book of life our baby's name and date of birth. Then whispered as she closed the book...too beautiful for this Earth.' Lola is with us. She is safe. She is loved immensely. So I will not give in to failure nor give up on life. For I believe God gave us all a little gift to keep us persevering forward: hope. And with this hope, we gain strength, for He is the way, the truth, and the light. I am sad. I am very sad. And that’s ok. Life is such a tremendous gift. Value every single moment."
