Remembering Mary Jane: Hands of Comfort
Exactly one year ago today, November 30, 2020, was the darkest day of my life when my beloved grandmother, Mary Jane Mills, passed away. She was one of my best friends, the relative I felt the most "alike" to, the sweetest human on the planet, and she was everything beautiful and kind and generous and good in this world. There never was a grandmother more adored by her granddaughter.
I've been trying to think of a way to honor her memory and bring a little bit of her light back into the world on this day, and so today launches the first annual "Remembering Mary Jane: Hands of Comfort" giving event -- and how appropriate that this first year it falls on Giving Tuesday. With your help, this Christmas I would like to give a gift bag with a full size bottle of my grandmother's favorite Beautycounter hand cream (that I gifted to her every Christmas) to every employee at Hospice of the Panhandle in Martinsburg, WV, which is the hospice that helped make those last days of hers a little more comfortable and beautiful.
Each gift bag costs $20, and I'll be personally kicking us off by sponsoring 20 of them. I'm hoping that you will help me reach the rest of these nurse angels by being a sponsor. If you'd like to, you can sponsor in memory of your own loved one, and I will add their name to an additional memorial tag. Just leave a comment with your loved one's name(s) after you make your donation.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. Hospice of the Panhandle has 154 employees... That's a lot of gift bags! But Mary Jane believed in miracles, and so do I. Let's make one happen this year in her memory, and for her husband of 71 years, Tom, who misses her light.
Goal: 154 sponsored hand cream gift bags ($3,080)
To Benefit: All Employees of Hospice of the Panhandle
Campaign End: December 14th, 2021
