Remembering Joe - fundraising for suicide prevention

It’s just over a year ago that Joe, a greatly loved son, grandson, brother, friend and colleague, went missing from his home. It was an enormous shock when he was found passed away 2 weeks later in Lewes, as none of those close to him were aware that he was feeling suicidal.

At just 24 Joe’s quiet demeanour, caring and generous spirit and gentle humour had touched so many more people than he realised. Everyone that knew and loved Joe was devastated that he found himself unable to speak about the frightening thoughts and feelings he must have experienced.

Joe’s family wish to honour his memory by raising money for suicide prevention charity ANDYSMANCLUB with a first goal of raising funds for the launch of a local club in the Brighton area. Another step towards ANDYSMANCLUB reaching their ambition of having a club within 30 minutes of every man in the UK.

ANDYSMANCLUB is an award winning charity offering free-to-attend weekly peer-to-peer support groups for men across the United Kingdom and online.

ANDYSMANCLUB exists to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health and create a judgment-free, confidential space where men can be open about the storms in their lives.

Our first fundraising event in Joe’s memory will be a skydive taking place on the morning of Thursday September 5th 2024 at the Old Sarum Airfield in Salisbury (weather permitting). Our jumpers include:
