Remembering Jimmy Agnew's Gentle Spirit

Donation protected
On June 11th , we lost our loving brother, Jimmy. Jimmy had such a kind and caring
heart, and would have done anything for anyone. When he was younger, he would
mow lawns and try to make money anyway he could. As he got older, he continued to
do to yard work for anyone that needed the help, most of the time he would do it for
free. His only wish was that the people who needed help, had it.

Jimmy also loved to write poetry and write songs as he was growing up. He loved the
Lord and could recite passages out of the bible off the top of his head.

Jimmy was 59 years old and had suffered with mental health issues since he was 18
years old, when he suffered a traumatic brain injury from a car accident, that led to a
lifelong battle with mental health issues. With a lot of hard work, he had miraculously
rebounded in the last couple of years. As a family, we have tried our hardest to
advocate for the mental healthcare system in Arizona on behalf of Jimmy, with little to
no results. As anyone that suffers with this knows, our system is broken and has a long
way to go.

A little over a week ago, Jimmy passed away suddenly due to a heat stroke. His
internal body temperature was three times higher than the average person. He was
found alive but collapsed on a sidewalk of a busy intersection where someone had
found him and called emergency services. Jimmy passed away shortly after arriving at
the hospital. Our family had just recently found out that he had passed away as he had
no identification on him. We are heartbroken as we were unable to be by his side to say
our goodbyes.

Jimmy was taken from us way too soon. He leaves behind so many loved ones that
cared and loved him deeply. Unfortunately, Jimmy did not have any savings, and we as
his family, are trying to gather money to pay for his funeral expenses. We also know
that times are very tough financially for many families out there, so we are just asking
for any amount that is comfortable to spare to go towards laying our brother to rest.
We are going to leave you with this little excerpt that Jimmy wrote in 1988.

“By finding God, as my inner strength, my higher power, I now realize that all
along it was only me that had to reach forth, for God was always with me, as with all,
showing which path to follow to fulfill ones destiny!”
