My name is Oshene and I am a teacher raised in the community called Duanvale in Trelawny, Jamaica. Our community means a lot to us, and together we will need to rebuild and help where possible.

Hurricane Melissa has destroyed Jamaica and Trelawny was one of the parishes that got destroyed badly. A lot of damages were caused to homes, churches, schools, roofs, furniture, and essential items. These damages are very heartbreaking everywhere, but the spirit of Trelawny remains unbroken.

As a community member, I see firsthand the struggles our children and families are facing. I know persons are without proper meals, water, roofs, and essential supplies at this time. Currently, the entire area is without electricity, water, and services.

I am personally donating to my community and would like the assistance of us all coming together that is why I have created this gofundme which will directly help the community with essential needs, reconnection resources and repairs.

The community needs essential food items, water, power resources, hygiene products, assistance with basic home repairs and materials to help rebuild damaged houses.

Together, we can help restore hope and dignity to the families of Trelawny. I will be traveling to Jamaica in 2 days to start this project and possibly share Starlink needed to connect members with their families.
