On New Year’s Eve, our family experienced an unimaginable loss. My father, William Tomlinson, suffered a massive heart attack. He fought for 30 hours, but tragically, he did not survive.
William was more than a husband, father, and friend; he was the backbone of our family. He worked tirelessly his entire life, building and running his own business, not just to provide financially, but to create stability and security for those he loved. He was the kind of man who showed up, solved problems, and quietly carried the weight so others didn’t have to.
My mother, Coco, is now facing the aftermath of this sudden loss, both emotionally and financially. In a single moment, she lost her best friend and nearly two-thirds of the household income that sustained them. As my dad’s business has effectively collapsed overnight, she is left trying to navigate grief while also dealing with mounting bills, business obligations, and an uncertain future she never expected to face alone.
The shock has been overwhelming. There was no time to prepare, no chance to plan, and no warning that everything would change so quickly. Right now, my mom needs time and space to grieve without the constant fear of financial instability hanging over her head.
We are starting this GoFundMe to help relieve some of that immediate burden, covering living expenses, outstanding business and household obligations, and giving my mother the breathing room she needs to heal, regroup, and begin rebuilding her life after such a devastating loss.
If you knew William, you know he would give the shirt off his back to help someone else. Asking for help is not easy for our family, but we believe this is how community works, showing up for one another when life hits hardest.
Any donation, share, or message of support means more than we can express. Thank you for helping us honor my father by supporting the woman he loved so deeply.
