Jennifer Fluri and Rachel Lehr have been conducting research in Afghanistan for over 20 years. Since the Taliban resurgence and US military withdrawal from the country, they have been working to help their colleagues to evacuate and seek refuge in the US and other countries. This fund will be used to assist with these efforts.

 

The image above was photographed in 2019 in the capital city, Kabul. This painting and many others throughout the city were part of a mural project run by Artlords, an Afghan organization seeking social transformation through art (https://www.artlords.co/). Sadly the Taliban has painted over these murals with their own political propaganda.
