Help After the Hurricane Dorian

You are most probably well aware of the destruction the hurricane Dorian has caused at the Bahamas. (Image: AFP/Getty Images)
"The International Red Cross fears 45% of homes on Grand Bahama and the Abacos were severely damaged or destroyed.
The Island of Great Abaco is virtually uninhabitable, with bodies piled up, no water, power or food, and militias formed to prevent looting, local media report." writes BBC.

As an profession, I am a nurse and I am part of a disaster aid organization called RescueNet and now joining a team to help out with the relief work done at the Bahamas.
I am a volunteer which means I need to pay for my tickets and equipment myself as well as my insurance etc.
I want to invite you to join me for my work by supporting me financially. I need to raise a support of 15 000 SEK (1500 euros) and you can be part of seeing that coming together!
I am very thankful of every donation, big or small, for that will enable me to go and use my sills (as a nurse and others) to help out and serve where there is a cry for help. Through me you can be a helping hand reaching out to the ones in need!
I will be gone approximately two weeks, flying out as soon as possible - before Thursday, I hope. Our plan is to join another medical team and serve as medicals but we are open to help out in anything that needs to be done.

Monet teistä on varmasti nähneet uutisista, millaista tuhoa hurrikaani Dorian on Bahamasaarilla aiheuttanut. Monet kodit ovat tuhoutuneet, puhtaasta vedestä on pula, kuolonuhrien määrä kasvaa jatkuvasti satojen ollessa vielä kadoksissa. Voit katsoa yhden ylen uutisvideoista täältä:

Olen mukana katastrofiapujärjestössä, jonka nimi on RescueNet. Järjestö on lähettämässä tiimin Bahamasaarille auttamaan ja minä olen mukana tiimissä!
Työ järjestössä on vapaaehtoistyötä, mikä tarkoittaa, että maksan kaikki kuluni itse (lentoliput, vakuutus, varusteet..) Siksipä haluan kutsua sinut mukaan työhöni Bahamasaarilla. Mukana voit olla tukemassa minua taloudelliesti. Tarvitsen 1500euroa (15 000 ruotsin kruunua) voidakseni lähteä. Kaikki tuki, niin suuri kuin pienikin, otetaan kiitollisuudella vastaan! Ole mukana auttamassa apuatarvitsevia kauttani Bahamasaarilla!
Olen matkalla noin kaksi viikkoa, toiveissa on lähteä mahdollisimman pian (viimeistään torstaina) ja liittyä tiimiin, joka saapuu paikalle jo alkuviikosta. Tarkoitus on liittyä yhteen toisen sairaanhoidollisen ryhmän kanssa ja tehdä työtä yhdessä. Teemme pääasiassa sairaanhoidollista työtä, mutta olemme avoimia tekemään kaikkea, missä apua tarvitaan.
