Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

My name is Michael Khairy, and I serve as a Subdeacon at St. Mark’s Coptic Catholic Church in Australia. Today, I am reaching out with a sacred mission—one that ties our community back to the very foundation of our faith.

For years, we have longed to receive a relic of a piece of the Holy Bones of our Patron, St. Mark the Apostle and Evangelist—the founder of the Church of Alexandria and the first to bring the Gospel to our ancestors in Egypt.

Now, after many prayers, conversations, and tireless efforts, we are blessed to share that this dream is finally within reach.

A Mission With the Church’s Blessing:

We have received the blessing and approval of our Bishop, His Grace Thomas Habib, along with the spiritual guidance and support of our parish priest, Abouna Andrawes Farag, to pursue and enshrine a first-class relic of Saint Mark in our church.

This is not just a relic—it is a living spiritual connection to the Apostolic Saint. It is a blessing for our entire community and a gift for future generations who will grow up in the presence of our Church’s founder.

A Rare Opportunity – A Call to Action:

We now have the opportunity to obtain this relic under the proper protocols and with the dignity it deserves. While relics are never “sold,” the associated costs for certification, secure handling, transport, and a dignified reliquary are significant.

We are seeking to raise funds to cover:

Certified and secure transport of the relic

A proper reliquary for permanent enshrinement and iconography

Liturgical furnishings and ceremony preparations

A day of reverence to welcome the relic publicly

Any additional funds will go toward strengthening the parish
