Let’s help Cradle of Love Baby Home with new land!

Dear readers of this fundraising,

My name is Loura and as an ambassador I have started to raise money for the Cradle of Love Baby Home in Tanzania, a shelter that gives underprivileged babies and toddlers a second chance. Meanwhile, Valentine, Magdalena and Dunja have joined me as ambassadors from France, Austria and Switzerland, for the same cause. We want to use the money to secure the land and buildings of the shelter, now and in the future. To give the collection a boost, we started this Go fund me campaign.

One of the babies who is given shelter and nourishment last year was Glory. Glory was barely 3 years old. In April last year, Glory could not walk due to malnutrition. She could hardly sit. Her muscles weren't strong enough. Fortunately, she has a strong will. She saw other children her age walking and wanted to walk too. Due to good nutrition, positive attention/exercise and her strong will, she managed to stand at the end of May 2022 and take steps together with someone else! As exciting as she found it, she kept trying and can now walk independently. Without the shelter, Glory would likely have died or been disabled for the rest of her life. Thanks to the Cradle of Love, she got a second chance. We are all very proud of her.

The project doesn't only host about 50 babies and toddlers, in addition about 28 women and men work in the project. They can support their families through the work they do. The project's reach is therefore greater than 'just' the children. Unfortunately the land on which the buildings stand is not owned by the Cradle. The land is leased and that contract is expiring in April 2024. In order not to have the fear of losing the foundation after each lease period, the board started looking for a piece of land that could be bought, and... found it!

Along with the ambassadors, I have been asked to commit to the 35.000 $ needed to purchase the plot of land. The first 20.000 $ has already been collected. Now the question for you is: do you want to help? Every contribution counts!
